Midwest Game 2007
It was Memorial Day weekend, the only "break" in Spring Semester, I guess. We left Ann Arbor at about 4.30pm (Friday), and reached NIU(Northern Illinois University) at about 1am. We went there for a reason, and it was Midwest Game, a Sport event organized Malaysian Student Department (MSD) in the US. All Malaysian students in the US can participate in this event. On Saturday, all of us walked to Anderson Hall to watch Jason, Wei Chieh and Kai Li playing badminton. And then, we had lunch at Great Wall Restaurant, the only Chinese Restaurant we saw. Azlynn, Mei Chen, Szu Ling and I walked to the basketball court, to have a look, since we were going to play the next day. And so, we played for a while, since there’s a court for us to practice (although we were all wearing Jeans! We were all wet in the end!!). We had a nap that evening, Ling and I didn’t even attend the Opening Ceremony coz we were so tired. (Fortunately, Mei Chen and Azlynn said we didn’t miss any special thing.)
It was Sunday. We were all so nervous, undoubtedly. Before 8am, we were already at the Basketball Court. The first game should start at 8am, but the team had not enough player and so we walked over the first game. The next game was at 9am, and the opponents looked so so pro! They were one of the teams from Nebraska. This was the best game among the three games we played (Although we lost the Game). Clairine actually told us that, those girls were from Inti, Nilai and they always played basketball when they were at Inti. We were glad to get to know them coz they are all so nice. The other two games were against Ohio State and U. Buffalo. We lost the two games, too. Overall, we lost the game but we won the unity among us.
I’m so so glad to have all Michigan-ians to support us when we were playing those games. I would like to convey my sincere thanks to all who were there to support us. Special thanks to Ihsan and Zul, and also KokYee, who spent their time to "coach" us throughout the Game.. Somehow, I felt so sorry, to disappoint any of you, or probably disappoint myself. The tears were not for the lost, but for the disability to get a medal for my best friend, who spent all her energy in those games, even though she has bruises all over her knee and elbow.
Right now, all of us were in pain, physically, I guess. Hopefully all our body parts will get back to normal soon.
Physics 2nd Midterm is in two days time, and I haven’t even started anything. I guess, the Basketball match made us "blind". The worst thing ever happened was none of us remember Kai Li’s birthday. I felt so so bad, and would like to, again, apologize for this. She was there with us, with almost all of us, and we didn’t even sing a song for her. So Sorry, Kai Li.. Happy belated birthday to her!!
Also, I wouldn’t forget to thanks all of my teammates, Azlynn, Mei Chen, Fizah and Ling, for making this game a wonderful memory of mine! Thanks, girls!!~ Love you girls so much!!
