Midwest Game 2007

It was Memorial Day weekend, the only "break" in Spring Semester, I guess. We left Ann Arbor at about 4.30pm (Friday), and reached NIU(Northern Illinois University) at about 1am. We went there for a reason, and it was Midwest Game, a Sport event organized Malaysian Student Department (MSD) in the US. All Malaysian students in the US can participate in this event. On Saturday, all of us walked to Anderson Hall to watch Jason, Wei Chieh and Kai Li playing badminton. And then, we had lunch at Great Wall Restaurant, the only Chinese Restaurant we saw. Azlynn, Mei Chen, Szu Ling and I walked to the basketball court, to have a look, since we were going to play the next day. And so, we played for a while, since there’s a court for us to practice (although we were all wearing Jeans! We were all wet in the end!!). We had a nap that evening, Ling and I didn’t even attend the Opening Ceremony coz we were so tired. (Fortunately, Mei Chen and Azlynn said we didn’t miss any special thing.)

It was Sunday. We were all so nervous, undoubtedly. Before 8am, we were already at the Basketball Court. The first game should start at 8am, but the team had not enough player and so we walked over the first game. The next game was at 9am, and the opponents looked so so pro! They were one of the teams from Nebraska. This was the best game among the three games we played (Although we lost the Game). Clairine actually told us that, those girls were from Inti, Nilai and they always played basketball when they were at Inti. We were glad to get to know them coz they are all so nice. The other two games were against Ohio State and U. Buffalo. We lost the two games, too. Overall, we lost the game but we won the unity among us.

I’m so so glad to have all Michigan-ians to support us when we were playing those games. I would like to convey my sincere thanks to all who were there to support us. Special thanks to Ihsan and Zul, and also KokYee, who spent their time to "coach" us throughout the Game.. Somehow, I felt so sorry, to disappoint any of you, or probably disappoint myself. The tears were not for the lost, but for the disability to get a medal for my best friend, who spent all her energy in those games, even though she has bruises all over her knee and elbow.

Right now, all of us were in pain, physically, I guess. Hopefully all our body parts will get back to normal soon.

Physics 2nd Midterm is in two days time, and I haven’t even started anything. I guess, the Basketball match made us "blind". The worst thing ever happened was none of us remember Kai Li’s birthday. I felt so so bad, and would like to, again, apologize for this. She was there with us, with almost all of us, and we didn’t even sing a song for her. So Sorry, Kai Li.. Happy belated birthday to her!!

Also, I wouldn’t forget to thanks all of my teammates, Azlynn, Mei Chen, Fizah and Ling, for making this game a wonderful memory of mine! Thanks, girls!!~ Love you girls so much!!

Pisces Friendship Profile

They may seem to be wandering about in their own little world sometimes, but Pisces is one of the most caring friends you’ll ever have. This Water Sign has emotions to spare, so prepare yourself for long evenings of heart-to-heart talks with your Pisces pal. This friend will truly want to know the real you, and they’ll probably be able to pick up on how you’re feeling no matter what you tell them. They’re a great friend when you’re in need. If nothing else, they’ll have an open ear for your troubles and a handy box of tissues for your tears. Watch out, though. Pisces can be easily manipulated, and their feelings can be hurt by the slightest misguided comment from a friend’s mouth. What they need is for you, as their friend, to reassure them and help them past their insecurities. They will always be open with their emotions, so the biggest favor you can do for them is return that trust by revealing yourself. You’ll never be bored with your creative Pisces buddy if you just keep an open mind and let them whisk you away into their world for a while. Best Friends Bets: Capricorn, Taurus

First half of the Swimming class~

I have been attended Swimming class for about one month. Our instructors “declared” that yesterday was “Safety Day”, since they expect that most of us will go to beach or somewhere over the Memorial Day holiday on Monday. The first thing we did was practicing how to save people who drown nearby the shore. It’s pretty simple, one hand holds on the wall and use another to pull the victim. So this practice was kind of ridiculous. J Next, we used a life buoy (a word that was taught by my little sister, must give her credit here =p) to save someone who drowned far from the shore. It’s fun when you acted as the victim, coz someone pulled you while you just need to hold on the buoy. What’s next was one of the fun parts of the class. We walked to the deck of deep pool, and wore a life jacket each. And, the instructor, Nancy said “Jump into the water..” Hmm, she rarely asked us to go to the deep pool, since we are all in Beginning 1 class, means we don’t know how to swim at all. And that deep, is real deep, it’s 12.5 feet!! Yea, all of us know that we’ll float with life jackets. But who dare? Nancy was the first one to jump, and followed by Hui Fang, guess I was the third to jump. WOw, that was so great! When we were all in the water, Nancy asked us to form a circle. She tried to tell us, what you should do if a group of people were in the water with life jackets and were waiting for help. So Nancy “gathered” all of us, and our legs were all in the center. Everyone was laughing, when she was trying to say something. And she realized that it’s so hard for her to shout. We were not laughing at her, we were all laughing coz we were all so excited, including Nancy herself. After a while, we got out of the pool and walked back to the shallow part of the pool. Here comes the funniest part of yesterday’s class! We played Water Polo, a different version of it though, with combined groups of Beginning 1 and Beginning 2. Instead of having a goal, we have to hit the board on the side of the pool in order to score. Hmm, our board got hit twice, and that means my group lost the game. But that’s fine, coz what we gained was happiness and joy!! =) Nice to be in my team, the Blue Team, with Tera, Soba, Jason, Brian, Jing, Sophia, etc… You guys rockz!!

What a great Swimming class!!

a special May~

It’s May 07, what a wonderful month of the year, coz …  :)

It is supposed to be a "free" and "enjoyable" semester, coz it’s Spring! But I "seem" busy although I’m just taking Physics, why? why? why? I’m addicted to visit CCRB (Central Campus Recreational Building), to play basketball, to attend swimming class, to hang out with my hallmates (Azlynn, M.Chen & Ling), having fun :) but NOT addicted to Physics.. sigh~ it’s time to start working on Physics, though- in order to avoid something "unacceptable" happens…

Time is going to fly away, and we’re going home! it’s exciting to go home, but I dunno why, I just don’t want the time to fly so fast. Probably coz I’m enjoying staying with a bunch of friends here right now. Next year we’re going to stay in different residence halls again. But at the same time, I do hope to get home soon :)

May is so special coz it’s my special ones’ birthday!~

Happie birthday to all of you :

S.Ling May 05

K.Meng May 09

S.Wei May 10

E.Miao May 16

and everyone who was born in May :)
